[V8] The gauntlet has been thrown down

A while back, I threw out a challenge for the largest V8 gathering in
the US. On Saturday at the NW Audi Club's 4th Annual Audi Owners
Gathering, we had 6 V8s! There was also a guy that had bought a black
'90 V8 2 weeks prior, but didn't bring it to the meet. (does that
count?) Our 6th V8 took off before we had a chance to include him in
the group photo, so our group shot is only 5, but I was able to snap a
separate shot of the 6th one as proof. ;-)
Excellent turn out this year, not only for V8s (there were only 2 last
year - both 5-spd; mine was in the shop), but for all Audi models. The
door prizes were really nice, especially because I won the big one from
Griot's (http://www.griotsgarage.com/search.jsp?searchtext=11214); very
high end car care products, with a price lower than you might expect.
It was nice to meet some listers in person and compare cars side by
side. What do you guys say to an annual pilgrimage to Suffolk, VA?
(geeze I wonder how many of us would breakdown along the way...) :-)
Well, on to the pictures!

Burien over run by Audis
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-1.jpg - My Cyclamen '90 V8 and a
couple of Audi Nuts in training
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-2.jpg - Steve's Lago '90 looking
nice with the painted side moldings and bumpers
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-3.jpg - Rick's clean and pristine
'90, also with painted moldings and bumpers
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-4.jpg - Michael's '93 Pearl (the
Audi Sport stickers are a nice touch!)
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-5.jpg - Bob's '92 showing off a
pair of Euro spec headlights upgrade
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-6.jpg - Late to arrive and early to
leave; never met the owner of this '91
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-7.jpg - The lineup; poised and
ready to race
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-8.jpg - Steve, Bob, Rick, Michael,
and myself (L to R)
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-9.jpg - Rick sporting some 2B
camber adjustment plates. Had to remove a little metal in front of the
rear tire as well to stuff those tall sidewall 18" tires under his
fenders. Very nice setup.
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-10.jpg - Style points to Bernie for
using V8 tail lights on his very sharp Panther Black 4000. There was
actually a second (red) 4k there with V8 tail lights also; I had never
seen that done before.
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-11.jpg - VERY CLEAN install of a
RS2 power-plant in a '90 coupe. Not sure which block they used, but a
very very nice install. Hey, does that upper strut tower bar look
familiar?
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-12.jpg - Simple, yet elegant V6 90.
Very tasteful and in great shape
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-13.jpg - Which way is the track?
Al is selling this baby to finance a 4.2 transplant into his older A6.
If you want his contact info, let me know.
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-14.jpg - That thing got a Hemi?
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-15.jpg - URfun
http://198.107.18.114/v8q/pics/4AAOG-16.jpg - Not Concourse quality, but
a very nice example of an '85. She is for sale too; if you want
Stephen's contact info, let me know.
Hope you enjoy the photos, and remember 6 (drivable) V8s is the number
to beat! ;-)
Cheers,
- Jeremy
