[V8] Re: 5-speed swap.... spare the '91 Avants!

I always cringe when someone talks about such a grand modification to a rare car.  

Is there anything about a '91 that makes it a better candidate for this than a '90 or '89?

I know the wheel openings are flared, but a non-'91 Avant could be had for much less money and certainly '91 front fenders could be acquired and since you're already at the body shop, have then round out the rear wheel openings.

Unless of course you have a '91 Avant that _needs_ a front clip.  That's another story.
