[V8] Exhaust smell

My car was dripping oil onto the exhaust 'X' which is right by the
'fresh air' intake to the passenger compartment.  After one too many
'hey man, I didn't know this was a diesel...' I bit the bullet and spent
$50 for the new exhaust breather hose and stopped my oil dribble...

Don't know if this is similar to what you are smelling or not...
