Dave,
Calm down, drink some cold liquid and think through what you have done.
I am almost sure that you have done nothing major - and I'll bet that it
can be fixed in a short time if you just sit back and look at the job. I
know for a fact that it is really easy to get the plug wires messed up,
you could have a cracked distributor and not have known it (from
experience), you could have a dead wire, plug, etc. - you could have
gotten a bad hall sensor, you could have loosened, or cut any wires that
are close to that rack --- on and on and on. Look for the simple stuff
first then worry about whether the timing belt skipped a tooth (doubt it).
I would start by removing one plug wire at a time, while the engine is
running to see if there is a change, then I would test each of them with a
meter - including the coil wire, then check the caps for visual cracks
(with the covers removed), then check each point in the cap for continuity
with your meter. Check each plug, then check the actual wiring in an
around the coils and vicinity. It ran fine before this and it will run
fine again - just relax. If you want to talk in person just e-mail me and
I will send you my phone #
Good Luck,
Jason
