I think it cost me around $60 in parts for a new brush/regulator assy, and new
bearings. If the rotor slip rings are still in good shape and the diodes are
still good then this is all you need for a good as new rebuild. If you could
find the brushes and install them yourself, you could knock $40 off the price
and still have a good as new rebuild.
The front bearing was kinda expensive, the rear pretty cheap. I bought good
quality bearings. Don't buy cheap ones. If it is made in china you probably
don't want it.

If you can get the alt out of the car, and you can get the front pulley off
then you can rebuild it yourself easily. The bearings and regulator are off-the-
shelf parts available at any good auto parts store.

Just dis-assemble and clean up everything.
Clean up the slip rings with fine steel wool (and clean up all the wire hairs!!)
install the new bearings and re-assemble.
It takes longer to R&R the unit than to rebuild it.

Piece-o-cake.

Dave
