Well, it's been an interesting day. Started out putting back together my Van (1983 Ford E150-351 Cleveland) only to find out the cam has a flat lobe. Oh well 210K will do that.
On to the V8 Quattro. We started by pulling it onto the ramps and turning it over manually until the OlT (TDC) mark was lined up. At this point the distributors were 180 out. So, we pulled the valve cover on the passenger side to verify it was # 1. It wasn't, so we turned the crank one complete revolution. The cams should be opposite each other at this time. They weren't. They were about 25degrees too far. Then I looked under the intake cam, only to find a 1/4" gap. The timing belt jumped teeth and bent the intake valves. Two dead cars, what a day. Just wanted to let those who might be interested know the conclusion.
Time for the marketplace or Ebay!!
