I keep meaning to look into a saftey catch for this. I currently have my power
steering torn apart so maybe I will do it now - but it seems like a loop of good
old fashioned bailing wire (or the hi-tech equivelent) would keep the rod from
being able to drop down if the plastic thingy breaks? Of course this plastic
part should probably be replaced as a service item every once in a while but who
would ever think of that.
