So, I'm on vacation in Las Vegas, about 1200 miles from home (Oklahoma). I'm driving in town today, and out of the blue the wipers start going, then the steering column starts smoking. WTF? I still have the top cover removed , so I could see it was coming from one of the plugs on the right. I pulled the intermittent relay, and it quit smoking. Is there a common problem associated with this? I've been on the list for a while and don't remember seeing this before, but I'm hoping someone will console me and say "yeah, that's simple-this is all you have to do". Why do I get the feeling that's a pipe dream.
I knew I should have left the V8 at home and brought the 4000Q. Last time to Vegas the V8 blew the PS pump, and it took 40-50 quarts of ATF to get home (stop every hour-add two quarts).
Some adventure :)
Tony
P.S. I'm also the guy with the broken van and bent valves on the other V8 :( Baaaaaaad Karma
