[V8] exhaust soot and poor gas mileage update

Yup.  It did.  Thanks, Mike.  Ran the codes after driving to the office this
morning but before turning the engine off: 4444: Yipee!  And she idles at
650-700 rpm :-)  Maybe this will have taken care of my high rpm engine
exhaust smoking problem...Too bad we don't have dry clear weather today to
test this out.  In any case, she seems much more responsive.  God knows how
long the temp sensor has been out/ on it's way out -- I wouldn't be
surprised that it's been since I bought the car over a year ago...

My advice: Check your ECU codes sooner rather than later...
