... good grief, I take all this time to prepare a response, and forget
the conclusions! Sorry about that!
To minimize the error, the best return would be the 139 connection,
which would mean tapping into the BK/BR lines to the IAT or coolant temp
sensors. I am pretty confident that taking the return through the
grounded end of the OXS heater connections would work just fine if you
wanted to have an adapter that did not alter the vehicle wiring at all.
IMO, the best compromise overall would be to attach the sensor ground
signal for the 4-wire OXS to the bolt on the back of the engine block
that attaches the grounds for the Motronic harness ...
