Ok guys, I am really tempted by the group buy on the chip, however, what's
the bottom line? Will I need a stop watch to notice the difference? I have
a 3.6.

Loving the last 45K I've owned it, only because I haven't performed any Audi
surgery in a few months, did I just say that, oh sh*t, I know what I'll be
doing this weekend...........................

I feel your pain. I had similar issues having the automatic transmission
rebuilt on my 1990 to the tune of $4k. I felt like I got bent over and the
work performed wasn't of the caliber to match the $$.
Dino recommends www.autohausvick.com in Bellevue for V8 work, which may be a
bit north of AVS, but perhaps worth the drive for your next major repair...

Thanks for the warning about shops that don't stand behind their work...

I don't recommend Max because of my experience.
He had my car for over a month to do a heater core replacement, timing belt,
and a few other minor things.
He charged a lot. Then refused to redo the heater core when it became
apparent that it was defective from the beginning. He supplied all the parts
and charged me way more than I could have sourced them for. Max is a
professional and runs his own business in Washington state called Audi
Volkswagen specialist(AVS). I really wanted to support him. Problem is it's
hard to find mechanics that know about the V8.
