[V8] V8 cutting out at about 1800 rpm

I just replaced the engine speed sensors on my '90 v8 a couple weeks
ago. I removed the cruise control diaphram which involves unplugging
its vacuum line. When I started the car after the job, it ran on only
four cylinders because I forgot to plug the coil wire back in. Also
the oxygen sensor wires plugs are right there with the engine sensor
wires. I wonder if the signal wire could be pinched and shorting out
or something. The breather hose from the driver's side head to the
crankcase is right there... they get really mushy with age and if the
mechanic was somewhat indelicate with it, a small leak may have
developed. Or maybe the same thing with the head-to-head breather
hose which runs right over the top.
