Bob,

Well, let's calculate the size of tires that go onto 20's on a V8 for
starters. Stock is 215/60/15. For 16's it is 225/50, 17's 235/40, 18's
245/30 or maybe 235/35. For 19's then it is 245/25, and 20's 255/15 or
245/20. Now, for starters, try finding that size. If you go larger, as is
the practice on the Caprices around here, you have to lift the car, or live
with constant rubbing (not inconsiderable with the price of 20" tires).
These sizes are general, however. The general rule of thumb is up 10 for
width, down 10 for aspect ratio, up one for rim diameter. If you want more
exact sizes, you will have to calculate them. Take the width(215), multiply
by aspect ratio(.60), then subtract the diameter(254mm for each inch
larger).
And, no, I don't think anyone has put 20's on one before. I have only seen
up to 17's personally. Someone may have fit 18's on one, but 20's are a heck
of a stretch.
The bolt pattern is 5 X 112 if he needs that, and Good luck. I remember 17,
and yea, you couldn't convince me with logic then either.
