[V8] aluminum flywheel, $76,000 CDN

The aluminum flywheel does let the engine rev up more quickly, but it has
NO effect on how much horsepower the engine makes. There is an increase in
acceleration, but not a huge amount.

The above is based on my experience with 60s vintage BMW motorcycles. The
stock flywheel weighs a TON, and there was an aftermarket aluminum wheel
available. It did help on acceleration, but there was a *very* small
increase in vibration. Since these flat twin BMWs were one of the smoothest
engines ever built, it hardly mattered.

The V8 is also pretty smooth, but remember you still have the weight of the
torque converter or the clutch, so the weight saved by installing the
aluminum flywheel will not be much. You *may* notice a difference, but I
think a chip would be money better spent, and a heck of a lot easier to
install.

On the Canadian $76,000 V8Q, that's about right for then, but unless this
is an *exceptional* car, I think it is going to be hard to get $4,800 US
for it. My gut feeling is that you would see $3,000, but would start
running into serious resistance past $3,500. (These are USD figures.)

(Audi V8 . . . it isn't just a car, it's an ADVENTURE!)
