[V8] Compression test

Fellow V8 fans,
I did a compression test on my motor yesterday, got
some interesting results.  All 8 cylinders read 210 to
220 psi.  Seems too high.  Either my gauge is off or
I'm doing something wrong.  I followed Bentley's
instructions.  Removed fuse 13, removed coil wires and
grounded them.  I cranked the engine for about 8
seconds on each cylinder with the throttle open, just
as bentley says.  Is this procedure correct?  I read
somewhere that all of the plugs should be removed for
the test, I didn't do this, howerever I don't think it
would make a difference.  I'm going to try and test
the gauge to make sure it works properly.  Any other
suggestions?  Thanks in advance.
