[V8] Re: Throttle linkage removal problem

I disconnected the cruise control linkage a long time ago, it's not causing
any problems. I'm having trouble with the rod that runs inside the IM. It
should pivot at two points: the front of the engine (in a bushing attached
to the IM by an Allen bolt, easily reached after throttle body is removed)
and at the back (in a bracket held by two 10 mm nuts). The front bushing is
OK but the back one is frozen solid. In other words, the long rod and the
bracket that attaches to the back of the IM are frozen together. I cannot
remove the bracket and the rod as long as they are held together. I tried
to separate them but there is very little space and I'm afraid of breaking
something. Would anyone know if the rod and the bracket can be separated in
the first place?

Also, the rod itself is made of two parts, looks like a long metal rod
inside a metal tube. Are these joined permanently or should the long rod
move inside the tube, anyone know?

I wish I could take the whole thing out and work on it in my workshop in
good light and comfort. What's involved in removing the IM?
Cheers

Radek.

the intake manifold. I cannot pull it out towards the back because it hits
the
bulkhead, it won't go out through the front either because the bracket is
too big.
