should be no big deal. relatively speaking...
one of the guys down here has a wonderfully fast 83 Coupe GT with a 3.6 in it, a second 3.6 sitting between the fenders of his 83 UrQ and he's taking the engine from the wreck we just split to put in his new 83 Coupe GT for his wife (she had to have it after driving his - where does he find these women?!)
Given the cheap and easy acquisition of a 3.6, why not.

I've had that thought myself. Not too long ago I proposed it to
Mike LaRosa, who had a V8 and has acquired a 100/A6 wagon. Also,
if Nate can put a V8 into an Audi 90[1], I think there should be
room for a V8 in the 100 engine bay. Why a 3.6L and not a 4.2L?
And do you think you can put a 5-speed manual into it?
Oh, for a garage, spare time, and Chris Semple's salvage yard. :)

Too bad he's in Maine. :)
