Sure, here's some thoughts from memory (or just read the recent repost
of Keith's diagnostic path). Start the engine from cold. Pop open the
hood. Facing the motor, look at the front of the head on the driver's
side. You'll see a sensor (G83?) at the coolant output. Disconnect the
harness. See if the fan runs through all three speeds.
If it goes through all three, the resistor pack etc. is good.

Subject: [V8] Electric Fan Issue and Fusible Link
First of all this Board is amazing, the insight and willingness to share
knowledge is just awesome.
You may recall that I kind of
started the hot-running V8
thread. I want to tell everyone
that when checking their fusible
link - don't just look at it, take it
out. Mine was cracked and the
ONLY way I could have known
was to take it out.
Now that it has been replaced
I've found that the electric fan
only comes on when I turn on
the A/C. I'm guessing from the
sound and what I've read it is
the highest speed.
When I turn the A/C off, the
electric fan turns off regardless
of engine temp. I have yet to play
with the G82 and G83 sensors,
but it doesn't seem as if that test
would address this issue, although
I'm curious to see what happens
if I disconnect G83 sensor.
Any thoughts or WAGs?
-DaveM
