[V8] Rust on a Pearl Finish - Help!

Hello again,

I've got some rust stains around the wheel wells of my pearl white V8Q.
Not huge -- the largest is probably 0.75" x 1.5" or so.

There is no rust-through on anything - just surface rust.

I'd like to sand down the rust spots and re-touch it with the three-step
pearl "kit" (I think I can source this at a PPG store?).

Anyone tried to tackle this before?  Any thoughts?  Any horror stories?
