... nope ... Kneale highlighted a critical point. If there was a problem with power loss the radio would come up in SAFE mode ...
I don't know what sort of flaky power switch BlowPunked(TM) put into these radios, but they really aren't very robust. In #344 there is no detent feeling to the switch at all any more ... and most of the time the radio comes on when you rotate the knob ... but some times you need to turn the radio off and on a few times for it to realize that you really wanted to listen to the radio.
