[V8] Window Regulator

Not nearly as common as on Coupe GT's, but sounds like the same problem with
the cable where it frays and drags. It's only a matter of time then.
Best Foreign has recently had 2 v8's. There may be a window regulator
available still, plus you are able to pull parts yourself which allows you a
better "learning environment".
They're in Old Colorado City two blocks south of Colorado Ave at 16th St.
and are open until 1pm today.

Subject: [V8] Window Regulator
We had a cold snap here -- 24 below at my house -- and I noticed that the
driver's side window had some problems.
Specifically, it does not go down as smoothly as it used to, and it usually
now won't go all the way down -- gets to a "stuck mode" about 2 inches from
where it used to bottom out. When I try to make it go back up, I have to
grab
the glass with my hand to help it, and it make some sounds. Once it gets
halfway up or so, it goes up OK, but with some protest (I don't have to use
my hand
at this point).
If I roll it down a few inches, maybe halfway down, it goes up OK (without
hand assist), but again, not as smoothly. The temp is now in the balmy
30's, so
I don't think temp is a factor.
Any suggestions as to the cause?
I did window regulator work years ago on my 5000 Turbo, but have never took
apart the door on my V8. Should I plan for a trip to the bathtub with a
razorblade or is it relatively easy to open it up (removing trim, door
panels, etc.)?
Thanks,
Brad Hartman
