[V8] 90 V8 Bose rear amplifier recall?

... the grilles on the dash do not cover any speakers for the factory Bose system.  

AFAIK the 1990s were excluded ... here's something I pulled from my archives:

The thing is that the amps in the door speakers are subject to burning themselves out as well ... I've got a door speaker in #344 that is showing signs of impending failure, and I had another in #2 fail too ... it is just that the risk of causing a vehicle fire are reduced because the amps are enclosed.  

It appears that if you want to get your car handled by a NHTSA recall you will need to take up the campaign.  If you don't want to do it that way it is my understanding that you can get rebuilt speaker units from Bose for something like $75 a pop.
