The same problem can be caused by a bad microswitch in the door handle 
assembly. I have a similar intermittent problem with the drivers side door on 
my V8 that after some discussion with Bruce at Audiconnection we've pretty 
much narrowed down to either the switch or wiring. I've checked the door loom 
wiring and it looks pretty good, so it looks like I'll be ordering a 
replacement switch soon.
