Mine developed a sever leak last night (car has been sitting for awhile and I drove around 450 miles this past weekend). Letting the car warm up in the parking lot yesterday before running errands from work, I come out to see the green ectoplasm colored stuff in a big puddle - have not looked for the source yet, but it seems like it is dead center in the car, towards the fire wall. Also found a spring and brass fitting of some sort directly underneath, though I don't know if they are from my car or not

Sounds like the caps that screw into the pump. Ours did exactly that on a
trip. Pulled the pump and rebuilt it. no problema since.
