Nope.  The 280 (114 chassis, no letters in the model designation) had
a 4 barrel carb form '73 to '76.  Prior to that, the 250 (no letters)
had twin Solex carbs.  The 280 got a 4 barrel instead of the Solex.
So the Holley really wasn't that big a deal as a replacement.  It was
easy to overtorque the original 4-bbl and warp things causing air
leaks.  Anyway, the Holley didn't really prove to be a performance
enhancement.  It was really just a nice alternative to the worn-out,
over-torqued, warped original carb.   (After typing all this I still
can't remember the mfr of the orignal OE carb.)
