[V8] the never ending tire question

I am not really answering your question because I am running 225/60/15
tires on my stock rims, however, I thought I'd chime in. I have
recently had Dunlop SP5000 's; I liked(not loved) the this tire, but
couldn't find them in short order when I replaced them last. I am now
running Yokohama AVS DB S2's and I like them alot. They are quiet,
handle well in all conditions including snow and the price was in the
low 70's. The jury is still out on wear, but I doubt they are long
haulers. They are directional and look pretty decent too if that
matters. I burned through the factory P6000s on our S4 Avant and did
not like them at all, granted the size was quite different. They were
silly loud and not only did they scare the smile out of me in the snow
(only allowed that to happen once) but they don't like it when the
temps get into the low forties. I didn't find that the summer
performance was all that impressive and when I did retire them I found
some serious cracking on the inner sidewalls.

So far, I would buy another set of the AVS DB S2's for the beast.
Still not sure what I am putting on the S4 when I take the Nokians NRWs
off. BTW, the Nokians are quieter than the Pirellis by a large margin.
