[V8] Air Bag Light & Door Locks

... I'm by no means an expert on the air bag, but your description of
the symptoms makes me think that the controller module battery is
getting weak.  I believe that you can read codes with a VAG1551/52 (or
equiv) to be sure.  If this is indeed the case you would be looking at a
replacement module (i.e. $$$$) ... if it were my car I'd simply let the
light stay on for 3 minutes ... 

The auto lock problem ... can you lock the car with the pushbutton
switch on the panel on the inside of the driver's door?  Can you lock
the doors from the passenger's door key?  Do you hear the bi-pressure
pump (under the right side rear passenger's seat) clicking as you
attempt to lock the doors?  Do the locks on the trunk lid and fuel
filler door operate correctly?  It is hard to say for sure what the
problem might be, but with this info we should be able to narrow things
down ...
