[V8] V8 Non-Audi Swap (was crankshaft bolt)

My 1995 Caddy STS is transversly mounted front wheel drive 32 Valve V8
 Also I've seen a ton of folks slipping a small block into a Fiero. 
That's mid-engine, and transversely mounted.
Aren't the new Taurus V8's sideways too?
And I suppose the new Passat W8 doesn't really count.
Hmm, now I've got to know.

V8's gone but not forgotten, there's still pentosin on the car port.
