Hey guys. I have a buddy who is buying a 2000 S4 with a 19" wheel
package on it. The PO has the original Avus snowflakes, so I am
thinking about making a deal with my buddy for them...
I know that some of you are running 17" wheels, so what size tires are
you all running? I think they are the stock S4 size of 225/45/17...
This is less than a 1% difference than what I believe is the stock
recommended 17" size of 245/40/17. Sound about right?
Also, are there any fitment issues with the S4 Avus wheels? Can I use
the stock lugs? Spacers required? Any rubbing? I have H&R Sport
Springs with Koni Sports...
[Jeremy opens can of worms] Not sure how much tread is left on the old
tires. What brand / model of tires are recommended for the following:
Tire life - doesn't matter; I drive 6k per year
Grip - Important
Road noise - low preferred
Grip in wet - important, I live in Portland and enjoy driving the V8
more in the rain than in the dry
On the track - I will probably never track my car, but I do enjoy to
'drive it like I stole it' on occasion
Price - always a factor ;-)
Thanks for your feedback.
