[V8] Drove Through Snow, now alt=kaput? Belt is still on!

Yes, but it's not always accurate. Depends on the condition of the wiring. 
Mine always displays about 11.8 volts. Has for 50k now, and the car charges 
fine (radio will run for 8 hours and car still starts).
