[V8] Cold-Feet Update: HVAC reports code-09 on channel 01

The majority of us get error 09... As per the manual, don't worry about
it; your V8 is 'pre' temp sensor under the cowl... (Mine is a June of
1990 car and it doesn't have it yet either)

If it is not present, the climate control unit calculates what this
value should be from the other readings it takes.

The connector (IIRC) is under the cowl on the passenger side, but is not
hooked to anything.

I had the heater valve replaced by the wrench when I bought the car, but
I don't know what the symptoms are other than he thought my wallet
needed lightening. :-)

Cheers,

- Jeremy

If I read CJ Miller's site correctly, and IF it applies to the 1990 V8
then it would appear I have an open coolant temp sensor circuit.
This having been the melted-harness car, I had to do tons of wiring work

so possibly I missed hooking it up.

Questions:
1. Can someone confirm that code-9 on channel-1 points to a bad coolant

temp sensor circuit?

2. Can someone articulate where on the car that sensor is, and where it

goes to in the car so I can check continuity and the sender itself?

3. Theorize on whether or not a bad coolant temp sensor would prevent
the
heater valve from opening?
