[V8] Brake Pads

So the brake pad symbol came on yesterday on the V8. At least I think
it is the brake pad symbol - looks like this {O} in orange... I really
need to get a glovebox manual ;-)

Took the wheels off to see if I could figure out if it was front or rear
and it looked like they all had some life left in them. The pad warning
comes on right when I turn the car on and stays on the whole time.
Also, it hasn't gone off since making its first appearance yesterday. I
have the Girling-60 setup BTW.

Could someone explain to me how the sensors work on our brakes?
Spring-loaded metal thingy hidden in the pad? How long can I drive with
the idiot light on? (I only work 3 miles from work)

Also, any things I should look out for when installing the new ones?
Probably pretty straight forward, eh? Can I do this without having to
bleed the brakes or is that a bad idea?

Also, are the Mintex red box pads with the 21mm diameter wear sensors
the best way to go?

Thanks in advance,

- Jeremy

BTW, I mounted the AVUS 17x7.5 S4 wheels tonight and definitely need the
10mm spacers to bring the ET45 wheels out to the ET35 position. They
look very nice on my lowered Cyclamen (burgundy) V8, however they look
way too tucked under... Anyone have any experience with the H&R (or
other) spacers? Will I need longer wheel bolts?
