[V8] raising idle speed?

Mine did that too (rest her soul) - I think I needed a new IAC valve (on
the front of the intake with a plug and three 10mm nuts) You could have
yours clogged or a temp sensor somwhere going out.  I would test
everything before attemting to raise the idle speed.  As I said in my
second post I agree that the computer would try to override you in this
attempt.
