Maybe a marginal vacuum actuator diaphragm - latex rubber.

You are at the vacuum point where it oscillates.

Subject: [V8] flutter on 1/2 throttle

ok, this is weird and my local audi guru agrees... anyone ever hear this?

when driving (in any setting) if I press down mildly to about 1/2 throttle,
there is a series of 3 fluttering sounds from about the center top of the
dash to the right of the center console... not very loud, and you wouldn't
notice if you weren't listening, it sounds like a slightly metallic blowby
flutter (if that makes any sense). It doesn't sound like relays or
mechanical, it's like someone is fluttering a small set of flaps - always 3
times.

there isn't any control I can think of there that would be impacted, unless
its a vacuum issue??

doesn't seem to be impacting the driving experience (unlike the F-in starter
is at the moment) but it's there all the time and weird.

I'm afraid to look under there, I think I'll find a small german gnome that
flaps his arms to make the car go faster...
