While a good idea, and I always use the + cover that comes with the
battery (Interstate in all my type 44's), if you replace the bracket that
holds down the battery, it has a reinforced piece of steel that has a
notch in it for the metal seat supports.  With this backset in place,
there is no way that the seat frame will come in contact with the battery
or it's posts.

I have noticed that most of the Audi's I come across have this bracket,
but, most of the time it's in the trunk and the owner is clueless as to
what it's for.
