[V8] r134 conversion

I recently converted my 91' V8Q to R-134a and am very happy with the
results. My guess is I had been low on R-12 for some time, so the
conversion to R-134a was a huge improvement. The only change I made was to
add a 90 degree angle R-134a fitting to the low side R-12 port. The OEM
fitting is on the side of the suction accumulator and points toward the
anti-lock brake control unit. When I installed the standard straight
fitting there was not enough room to connect the quick-connect hose that
comes with the DIY recharge kits. I added a 2 oz. ester oil charge can
along with enough R-134a to obtain good high side pressures and as low as
possible air temp from the vents. IIRC I added about 3 cans of Freon.

For those who've converted to r134, did you have to change anything?
Just the dryer/accumulator? Other seals/lines? I recall posts ranging
from just the gas to every dang thing. Just wondering what's working
and what isn't.

I enjoy the coldness of the r12 system, but would love any commentary on
the ability of a converted system to cool down a black interior in 100
degree humid heat.

Thanks guys!
