[V8] Sensor Question

I think I'd recommend against getting a used part myself. It is a fact
that they have a limited lifespan, so replacing the part with a used one
means you may be doing the job again sooner than later. If you replace
it with new it is unlikely you will ever have to replace the sensor
again.
... that said ... it certainly seems that if one sensor goes the other
won't be far behind. While the reference sensor tends to be more of an
inconvenience, when the speed sensor fails the engine cannot run at all
and will stall. I don't know if you will want to plunk down $300 ...
but you might want to give it some thought. Another alternative ... buy
a replacement speed sensor and move your existing speed sensor into the
reference sensor location. It will be true that you will have to
remember which is which as they will no longer be properly color coded
...
I know there was someone who posted about cheaper alternatives, but my
quick check of my archives and the Audifans KB search were fruitless ...
