... I found the note in my archives ... here's an excerpt:
>
> I received the new ISV from Blaufergnugen Inc
(http://audiquattroparts.com)
> on Friday and installed it today, Sat.
> First off, it is a new design as their service bulletin indicated a
> manufacturer change from Bosch to VDO.
> (See photos at http://onlineaccesscards.com/gif/isv.gif )
>
> Needless to say, I put it on myself in about 10 minutes (didn't even
drop
> the bolt heads!), fired up the engine and put it
> in gear and it didn't stall. As a matter of fact, it started on the
first
> crank as never before.
>
> I then threw it into reverse and it held idle evenly and smoothly. No
> matter what I was doing, short of hitting the gas, it held even idle.
>
> So that answers the questions about "dead spots" being a problem on
the
> Bosch units. And yes, the original ISV was clean on the inside and
outside.

... I checked and the link with the pictures was still active ... it
looks like the person who posted did get the part from Blau ... while I
tend to avoid Blau also due to their "bedside" manner, it does sound
like the have the part. I zoomed in on the picture, while I can sorta
make out "Made in Germany" ... there was no detail on the VDO P/N ...
