[V8] Front bumper removal

Hi guys;

I'm a bit unclear on the proper way to remove the front bumper.  I'm supposed to undo the
bolts that 
attach the impact absorber, but do I detach the absorber from the bumper or from the body
of the 
car?  And access seems so difficult, any BTDT?
