[V8] Short to (+) Intake Air Temp Sensor

... from my experience it seems that the fault detection circuitry in
the ECU is fairly sophisticated ... if the problem could have been due
to an open circuit I doubt that the ECU would log a specific "short to
+" code. I suspect the description would be "open or short to +" if the
ECU couldn't tell the difference.
... I just re-read the message and see the report that the code is
0523... this obviously is not a blink code (which are 4 digit codes with
a value of 1-4 for each digit). How did you read this code out? Does
your code reader ask you what make and model car you have? There is
nothing this detailed in the list of codes in the service manual.
My recommendation to you is to use the "blink" method to read out the
codes ... all you need is a jumper wire and a low power 12v light bulb
... and then look up what codes you see in the service manual or a site
like Scott Mockry has.
