[V8] First time lister with many questions

Have the tranny shop remove the tranny drain pan and replace the #1 solenoid
(the only one you can see on the Valve Body when you remove the Pan). That
is what cured my problem. What happens is the #1 solenoid is the one that
controls the engagement of the Torque Converter. When this happens at Idle,
the car says no F-ing way and dies. Mine had the most problems when trying
to park my car in the parking garage here at school. I always back my car
in, so when I would pop it into reverse, it would start to move and then
just die.

I believe you have a sticking solonoid. Not sure which one, though. Some of
the other listers have more experience with this.

Check the distributor caps. They are suspect in the area when the back of
the engine is lowered.

The whine should be fixed with a noise filter in the power line going to the

"do-dad". Then, check the speaker connections going to and from that unit.
If they look suspect, replace them. I solder mine, to ensure a good
connection.

Might be an adjustment. Have you had the car aligned? There is no "play"
adjustment like on the old recirculating ball cars, but the alignment might
fix it.
