Need a driver's side shock absorber top mount plate - the part that comes
off when you change the shocks. Retained by three 17mm nuts, the center
shaft of the shock goes through it. The bond on mine between the shock rod
sleeve and the metal mount is "perished". The 5K part is stamped, the V8
part is forged.

Also would like to borrow or rent a 2069 shock retainer nut tool. I have a
set of front shocks to put in, but the tool I fabricated (blacksmithed from
a length of pipe is more like it) is too flimsy to do the job - only the
genuine item is tough enough. I don't want to shove a crescent wrench
between the spring coils.

Got aggravated by the V8 manual on CD being so blankety blank SLOW - so I
copied the pdf's to my hard drive - voila, super fast, no waiting, scrolls
forward and back perfectly. Just a heads up ;-)

Best Regards,

Mike Arman
(Audi V8 . . . it isn't just a car, it's an ADVENTURE!)
