[V8] well lets beat this brake acumulator to death again

Well - in light of this, I will re-post my filter idea:

I got a generic 3/8" inline automatic transmission filter - designed to go in
the cooling line, and installed it in the rack return line of my power steering
system. I did this after my original pump started to leak. It has been there for
a few years now, and I have replaced it once (as routine maintenance).

I have also switched over to "Chevron RYKON Premium 32" hydraulic oil and
because I have 5 gallons of the stuff, I have been flushing the system out
periodically. I just did it a few days ago, and the fluid now comes out pretty
clear where before it was black, and the screen in the tank had a rubbery sludge
on it before where now it is clean.

Since doing this I had the "pump to rack line" hose go bad, but no seals are
leaking anywhere. The car has about 140K on it.

On the RYKON oil, I have not really had it in there long enough to know for sure
about the long term effects, but I went through a pretty cold winter with it and
I had no issues at all. The only thing I have noticed may have nothing to do
with the oil and in fact be the reason some of you do not like the Servo Tronic
racks.
The issue is sometimes during high speed (for me) cornering I can feel what
appears to be the assist level fluctuating during the corner. It is a little
un-nerving because it feels like the assist comes on strong and the wheel gets
real light. I don't normally drive that hard so I may have just never noticed
before.
Has anyone else noticed this rack behaviour?

Dave
