I'm sorry to hear what's happened - you should let Ebay know and the Board know who this person was so we can all steer clear of him (or in your case you might want to steer right into him :^0 ! )
I literally had my windshield replaced last Friday for $200+tax from a local auto glass dealer (there was a $10 coupon in the yellow pages) - and I'm in NJ, so the prices shouldn't be that different. PPG Glass, tinted. I got the same kind of crazy-ass quote from Safetylight (sp) and basically broke out the yellow pages and started calling around - the Glass Dr. which I think is another chain quoted me $260 or $280 before I stumbled on a more local guy. Tell them right up front that you don't care about the windshield antennae, that brings the price down big time. Plus I have found absolutely no effect on the reception and the entire sound system is stock - I don't think it's connected to anything.
As far as the temp, I agree it sounds like a sensor as opposed to actual overheating - in fact I recently had my temp gauge climb to well over half b/c of 3 inches of frozen slush encasing the entire front end and the temp alarm still didn't go off (although it was only like that for a few minutes before I shut her down). Also I seem to have my normal operating temp just a hair under 100 (half way). When I stop in traffic it climbs to just over before the electric fan kicks in and drops it.
The window and sunroof I'll leave to more knowledgeable folks. Good luck!
