[V8] Rear main seal leaking? Uh oh.....

I think dropping the transmission might be easier, if you're going to
separate the torque converter to dump the fluid, BE CAREFUL, if the
torque converter is improperly seated it pushes in on the transmission
pump and breaks the tabs off. I pulled the transmission to do the
flywheel http://www.geocities.com/cobramsri/EngineTool.html, still have
the tilt tool (currently a doorstop) if you're in the Boston area you're
welcome to borrow it. With the transmission out, you can undo one motor
mount and should be able to lift the engine enough to do the upper oil
pan seal (no BTDT on this one.)
