You can buy DOT approved stainless lines (BTDT).  I've seen some pics of
failed lines, but these were always from track use.  Regardless, I think
it's always a good idea to check your lines every time you're
servicing/inspecting  your brakes (manadatory prior to track events anyway).

I'm with you on the UFO's.  Of the four V8's I've purchased, mom's latest is
the first that came with UFO's, and I'm impressed.  I'd liken them to my Big
Red setup with the Porsche 993tt calipers and Coleman rotors -- definitely
outshine those G60's.  Definitely an "upgrade" to consider on a later model
v8 IMO (and were standard on European V8's and UrS4s/S6s.

Yes, those rotors definitely prefer longer autobahn stops from high speed to
constant city driving -- as do I. :-)
