internally. Very true, that is the overall point, and it is indeed more
likely that a rubber line will give a visual clue to an impending
failure, though I don't think anyone is saying their use means no longer
having to replace brake lines. I'm not sure if I've ever seen
DOT-approved SS lines, and it's probably for that reason -- a state
inspection tech can't properly assess a line's condition -- not easily
at least. For me, converting to 996 calipers and the need for custom
ends is really what prompted my use of SS lines, not trying to get more
longevity out of them.

Nope, but this thread will definitely further encourage me to replace my
SS lines every two or three brake jobs... Which is a good thing.
