[V8] Arrival of "The Black Mariah"...

When I bought this car the PO said that he knew that the person before him
had "chipped" the ecu. Driving the car home from DC, I noted how easily the
power came on, and watched the boost readout sail past 2.5 bar with no
hesitation. Once back here, it did so easily, too. Then the car went into
the hibernation/resurrection period of rest at the wrench's, where it has
been for a year. I was thinking when I drove it home last evening, that I
really need a better boost gauge, and will search for one...VDO, or
something. Gotta find out what's in it.

Roger,

I just noticed in your lengthy post (sorry, I didn't read it completely
before) that you say your boost gauge reads 2.5 bar. Stock usually only
read to 1.7 or 1.8 and most all modded boxes will show those readings wihile
actually putting out 2.2- 2.4 bar. That has me thinking you have a TAP box
(as that's the only one I've heard of that will show over 2 bar on the stock
gauge)...regardless, get another analog gauge from VDO or Autometer. You
want more punch, eh? Get out yer checkbook :-)
