Greetings!
As much as I hate doing this, I need to part with my Audi V8s. I have recently
remarried and with the joys of marriage comes a few compromises - regrettably,
this is one. I have recently move, so I no longer have my 40 X 80 heated Morton
building to store my playthings, so many must go. Since this newsgroup has been
an enormous help in keeping these cars on the road over the last five years, I
wanted to give anyone in this group first chance at these cars before I take
them to the local sale.
Regrettably, both these cars are really just parts cars - due mainly to mileage,
although the best of the two has been out of commission since my daughter has a
minor collision in Chicago about two years ago. (My minor, I mean that she
drove the car 90 miles home after the front end collision).
Both are 90 3.6s. One is silver, has 220k miles and is in good shape (actually
excellent shape considering its age and mileage). It began having reoccurring
starting problems (flywheel sensors, I'm sure) several months ago, so my
college daughter got a new jeep and I got the Audi back - it has been parked
in my driveway since then. It is missing the radio (thanks to a midnight
shopper) and has a broken headlight and some valance damage (very minor) on the
front passenger side.
The second one is black and prior to the accident was an immaculate car - well
care for and maintained. I have spent almost two years trying to find a new
hood and front bumper that didn't cost me more than the car is worth - but to
no avail. For the first year, I started and drove the car at least once a
week, but it has been in storage this past year and started only a few times.
Both cars have about 25k miles left before the next timing belt service.
I have no idea what they're worth, but will entertain any offer. Hopefully,
someone in this group can put them to good use.
Thanks for all the help and good advice over the last several years. You have
made owning one of these fine cars a joy and at least a little bit more
affordable.
Thanks!
