[V8] Driving withO2 sensor disconnected?

I broke the electrical spade connection off at the engine, for the black wire from my O2 sensor while trying to replace the sensor in hopes of fixing some surging I've been experiencing with my '91V8Q.
 
I had cut the sensor off of the wire as I was going to splice them to the new Bosch generic.
 
The car runs better without any O2 sensor connected, anybody know of any ramifications to the car if I drive it like this until I figure out how to fix it?
